Job Description

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically inclined individual to join our team as a Trainee Investment Analyst. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with a strong interest in finance and investments to gain hands-on experience in analysing and evaluating investment opportunities, building financial models, and conducting industry research.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Analysis and Research

* Conduct thorough industry, company, and market research to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities.

* Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on investment opportunities, including financial statement analysis, valuation, and risk assessment.

* Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models to support investment decisions and recommendations.

* Monitor and analyse market trends, economic indicators, and industry news to inform investment strategies.

Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting

* Track and evaluate the performance of investments in the portfolio, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

* Assist in preparing regular reports on the performance and progress of investments, including attribution analysis, risk management, and portfolio updates.

* Support the preparation of investment committee materials and presentations, summarizing research findings and recommendations.

Collaboration and Communication

* Collaborate effectively with team members, sharing insights, findings, and ideas to support the development of investment strategies.

* Contribute to team discussions and presentations, providing thoughtful input and asking relevant questions.

* Communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, to present findings and recommendations to team members and senior management.

Professional Development

* Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in finance, investments, and industry-specific topics.

* Attend relevant training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance analytical and technical abilities.

* Develop a strong understanding of the firm's investment philosophy, strategy, and process.

* Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related field.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

* Familiarity with financial concepts, including financial statement analysis, valuation, and risk assessment.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

* Basic understanding of financial markets and investment concepts.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

* Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior internship or relevant work experience in finance or investments is a plus.

Familiarity with financial modelling and valuation techniques.
