Job Description

Hello my client is looking for a 2nd Support IT Engineer based in colchester
Purpose of Role:
This is a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer role that requires the ability to assume accountability and responsibility for providing helpdesk support and on-site housekeeping and commissioning activities. Ensuring all support calls are logged, progressed and resolved in a timely and consultative manner to meet contractual agreements.
This role reports to the Technical Manager.
IT Support & Helpdesk:
* Responsibility for the delivery of effective and robust IT solutions to our MSP and educational establishments.
* Demonstrate a ‘hands-on approach’ to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Communicate with all levels of personnel to ensure that customer visits are scheduled and achieved as agreed.
* Ensuring the correct use of our approved business systems and up-date customer details accurately.
* Ensuring support tickets are logged, progressed and closed-out to the customer’s satisfaction.
* Attending educational and MSP sites to implement housekeeping tasks and to investigate and close-out technical issues.
IT Administration:
* Create and deliver projects in-line with agreed project plan milestones.
* Utilise and engage with technical resource to encourage team learning and team work.
* Communicate the progress of the technical team activities at the weekly review meeting with the MD.
* Reflect on own ability and recognise when others need to be involved or ask for help and guidance.
* Achieve personal and business objectives agreed with your line-manager.
Experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience providing desktop support including knowledge of current operating systems (Windows and Mac).
* A Good understanding of Office 365, AzureAD and Intune.
* A Good understanding of networking equipment and standards (Switches, Firewalls, DNS, DHCP, RDP and VPN).
* Strong understanding of Windows Server administration and tools (AD, Group Policy, etc).
* Experience with Endpoint security and other security tools such as SPAM filters.
Workshop Duties:
* Commission devices and equipment to ensure the workshop activities are effective and efficient.
* Maintain clear documentation of equipment being processed on the bench.
* Ensure activities and tasks are documented and build sheets are accurate and signed-off.
* Ensure Sales Order/Delivery Notes are attached to the finished goods.
Pre-Requisites:
* MCSA level of IT with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an IT installation technician or helpdesk engineer.
* Project Management experience gained in a technical environment.
* A positive attitude with a flexible and friendly management style to achieve customer expectations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A genuine concern for quality, always striving to do an excellent job and deliver a professional performance.
* Demonstrates pride in own work and holds others to account for their work, attitude and behaviour.
* Engage with all personal internally and externally to protect the company’s reputation in the customer-base.
* Full UK Driving License.
Salary (£23,000 – £27,000)
