Job Description: Data Governance Consultant (Microsoft Purview)

Position Overview: As a Data Governance Consultant with Microsoft Purview experience, you will play a critical role in assisting our clients in establishing and maintaining effective data governance practices using the Microsoft Purview platform. Your expertise will be leveraged to provide guidance, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with data governance regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with clients to understand their data governance needs and objectives.

2. Design and implement data governance frameworks using Microsoft Purview, aligning them with the clients' business strategies and compliance requirements.

3. Conduct assessments of clients' existing data management practices, identify gaps, and propose recommendations to improve data governance processes.

4. Assist clients in defining data policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.

5. Configure and customize Microsoft Purview to meet clients' specific data governance requirements, including metadata management, data cataloging, and data lineage.

6. Provide training and guidance to clients' teams on Microsoft Purview features, functionality, and best practices for data governance.

7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and IT professionals, to ensure seamless integration of data governance processes.

8. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of data governance initiatives, identify areas of improvement, and implement necessary adjustments.

9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to data governance and Microsoft Purview.

10. Act as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Purview and participate in pre-sales activities, including solution demonstrations, proposal development, and client presentations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.

2. Proven experience (5 years) as a Data Governance Consultant, focusing on Microsoft Purview implementation and data governance best practices.

3. Strong understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, data cataloging, and data lineage concepts.

4. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Purview, including its features, functionality, and configuration capabilities.

5. Experience working with diverse data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.

6. Familiarity with data management technologies, such as data integration, data quality, and data security tools.

7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex data governance challenges and provide effective solutions.

8. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

9. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

10. Relevant certifications in data governance, Microsoft Purview, or related areas are highly desirable.
