Do you have solid experience and understanding of the inner workings of Kubernetes (from bootstrapping a cluster from the ground up, to extending core functionality by means of custom resources and the operator framework)?

If "Yes", then you might be just the right fit for this exciting opportunity to design and build bleeding-edge platforms around Kubernetes and Cloud Native services.

Our client, is looking for an experienced Cloud Native Engineer with expertise in the Container Hosting Platform Kubernetes to join in a full-time, permanent position in Gloucester City Centre (Hybrid working).

You’ll be managing a fleet of internal container hosting platforms (Red Hat Openshift/Kubernetes) built on their own hardware, and in their own data centres – if you have hands-on Cloud Native Engineering experience, be you an experienced Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or a Platform Engineer or similar.

Tech-wise, you will need…

Hands-on experience building and managing container orchestration platforms in Openshift/Kubernetes -be it commercial experience or via a home lab
Experience debugging and solving issues in container hosting environments
Experience with open-source logging and observability solutions (e.g. Elastic, Prometheus, AlertManager, Grafana)
Experience in either Python or Golang
Understanding of version control and CI/CD principles, and DevOps / Cloud-Native Development practices 
Understanding of best practices and security considerations in the container space

And if you don't have the following already you will be helped with developing these…

Understanding of TCP/IP Networking, Load Balancing, Firewalling, and Routing protocols
Experience of Ansible or Terraform 
Familiarity with microservice architecture
