    Applicant Tracking Systems

    An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is a software application designed for recruitment tracking purposes. They auto-filter job applications based on keywords, skills, number of years’ experience, education, and previous employer information.

    Bear in mind that when potential employers look at job applications, they’re looking quickly at job titles, past experience and companies you’ve worked for previously.

     

    Benchmarking

    Helps recruitment companies and agencies to measure, improve also optimise every step of the recruitment process.

    They can therefore create and build better processes also experiences for jobseekers.

    The results can be used to build stronger referral networks.

    CV – Curriculum Vitae

    A full record of your career history outlining personal details, qualifications, unique skills, character and achievements, work experience, interests, also references.

    Your CV should ideally only show information that’s relevant to the role you’re applying for.

    CV Headings

    CV Headings are what help to give a CV structure, and these are typically the headings: (1) Personal Information (2) Personal Profile (3) Achievements (4) Education (5) Work Experience (6) Qualifications (7) Skills (8) Hobbies & Interests (9) References

    Bear in mind:

    • You should not capitalise the headings as it gives the impression, you are shouting.
    • To avoid rejection by the ATS system, you should keep headings simple using standard industry headings.

    Desirable Skills

    Desirable Skills (unlike required skills where you need to possess all those skills to have a good chance of your CV being considered) are like the icing on the cake.

     

    However, if you do have some or all the desirable skills an employer is looking for, in addition to the main required skills this could put you at a distinct advantage.
